worst service I have EVER received in my life . I have called them for the last 3 months because of a misquote that we made to me on my account. I was on the phone for anywhere from 1/2 to an hour every time. They increased my bill from 136.00 to 148.00 and I called to get a better price. They quoted me 126.00. the next bill I got was for 148.00 . I called and they could not find out from the notes where the quote had come from. A supervisor apologized and told me that he would go in every month and give me a 20.00 credit onto my account so make up for the misquote. Of course, he only did it for one month. When I called back, the notes were only showing an authorization for one month of the credit for 20.00. They advised that they would give me the credit as a one time deal. I advised that I refuse to call every month to get a credit that I was told I would automatically get. I asked to be trans to the person who made this promise to me and they said that my request did not warrant a supervisor. I said" give me a supervisor now" and the person advised that he could not. U hung up. they have a wonderful tech support department but they are really lacking in customer service, documentation of the accounts, consistency etc. ...I have no choice but to stay with Cox due to the area that I live in but I am going to push for Verizon to come in as a choice...I hate cox...jk5vf

First, their business practices in consistently raising your rates to astronomically and off-market prices without your consent and then saying "oh, just call us", is unethical and really just a tactic only assholes in the C Suite would approve of. Their own employees know their company is unethical and terrible. Secondly, they want to bury a line in my backyard. The most disgusting customer service from any company I have dealt with spanning 50 years.Representative sounds like she is chomping on a double quarterpounder with half in her mouth.All reps in background laughing and joking around.I have no problem with that but the rep was not taking my call seriously and was trying to get off the call without answering the questions i had.
When asking for a supervisor,she said they would call back.Well I already knew that would not happen then she just hangs up !

I call right back talk to a diefferent rep and he said all supervisors were all tied up and they would call back.Again I knew the way things were going they would not.
Appears I was quite correct.The only thing left to do was call the corporate office in Atlanta Georgia.
of which the public relations person was very much different and listened to my thoughts on the matter,she was cordial as was I.I asked if she had the recording of the call and she said she did know who I spoke with and would take it to the supervisor of the rude represntative.

Whether that helps or not I will probably never know.
It is true, the representative that said they would call back...never did.
So all that can be done is to maybe let the corporate office in Atlanta Georgia know your distaste for your rude experience.Maybe it will help maybe not but it is imperative for people to do this.If corporate does not know what is going on,the rude,uncaring,representatives that are there for a unearned,unprofessional paycheck with the most horrible attitudes it will never change.Maybe it will maybe not but I implore you to take your complaint as far as you can.

Even more mind blowing: They ran a campaign in the state to slice the state into huge tracks of cable controlled monopolies; and then lied about what the cost was to maintain a municipal internet area. They bullied anyone who thought otherwise.

Literally, my county could have set up a municipal backbone but was cut off at the knees by COX by underpricing their services until the local people lost interest in funding a municipal Internet. THEN they sued other companies for trying to set up a fiber line in the area.

I will find a way to deconstruct this company, and they will want to do it because they will fear their own name. Anyone invested in them will consider them disgusting and abhorrent to free market or free thought.

I thought I did so several months ago; I had a problem with a returned check from the move.. and was told it was cleared up after submitting a dispute; I asked for email verification- lady said it was ok and she couldn't do that anyways... Turns out it was not clear. Again. Now the automated system says I owe $100 that the agent who seemingly purposely wasted 30min of my time on phone did not resolve. He lied about my previous phone calls with agents saying I agreed to pay the $25 returned check fee. That was from a phone call I received saying everything was settled two months later. Now they cannot say what automated system think I owe 100 for and that scares me. Neither will they submit my complaint or have the "back office" contact me. They will waste your time with this back and forth. Many lies and no resolution when you are trying to do the right thing.

I am mad now because, SUDDENLY , there is an addition $35 on the bill. They never told me that , after your bundle time, there would be a 'silent' step up. Give me a break. Now I am on the merry go round trying to take it off. I have to wait to see if they will. I can't change what I have until that is decided.
Before you can switch to Century Link back in the day. Now Cox seems to have a Monopoly on digital cable.
I actually took a 4 year hiatus from cable and tv. It was nice. Now I am on the infamous merry go round loopy loop. Though Cox Contour is what keeps me with them I am too old to play games. I may just quit Cox for the final time and move on

Overall haven't had too many issues with Cox but lately when I moved to a new location, I've been having trouble at work due to timeouts and lengthy periods of dropped connections. There is nothing they can apparently do except wait to upgrade the infrastructure in the neighborhood. I have to go through an entire process just to get compensated for the down time. The representatives have varying degrees of competence, and I often find myself repeating things even though they should be able to read the note. Some of them simply have no clue what the tools in front of them do, and it's pathetic I have to walk them through it. Lastly, I love their replacement system for their cable boxes. They won't automatically give you the option for a cable card, no, you have to cycle through x number of shitty refurbished boxes before it is an option.

They're vastly superior to other ISPs I have dealt with, and overall have no problem with them, but they really need to invest in some longer class room hours for their phone handlers. That is the worst part of it all.

My area only offers Cox due to some BS contract Cox has with the community. Like someone said in an statement on the internet, it's not American. I was charged 450. for early termination fee. No one at the Cox office including the director of customer service would even look into the service calls or any history whatsoever. I went to better business bureau they did absolutely nothing. They have over 1000 bad reviews with the BBB unsolved and still cox has a high rating with them. Go figure.Now they charged my card for services i never ordered - a card I never authorized them to used and charged me for the return fees when I canceled the card. Next they added HBO and Sports which I never ordered and charged me for 10 months of that. Unbelievable.

A data plan for unlimited data is 50$ more a month on top of the standard charge. A data plan for 1500GB a month cost 30$ more on top of the standard charge, also the unused data cannot be ported to the next month, COX just rips it off.
This is robbery pure and simple with the approval and complicity of the FCC....

I called, today, regarding a $30.00 increase in my bill. I am ONE year into a TWO-YEAR "locked" price agreement. After speaking to 6 agents (transfer...transfer...transfer) and, eventually have to read THEIR contract back to them, I got no where. When I asked the agent, "How many customers after the two-year agreement is up, actually leave Cox and go to other companies?" He said, "about 10%". I'll bet it is more like 80%!!!

My point: The "two-year" locked pricing does NOT include promotional pricing--even though it is sold that way. This is classic bait and switch. The contract is clear; their enforcement is not. Here's the way it works:

You sign up for a two-year "fixed" pricing. You THINK that everything is, "FIXED" for two years without any increases. Nope. The contract says, any item they've sold you at the RETAIL PRICE, can't go up for two years. But that "promotional" rate can.

Now, I'm not stupid (I'm a paralegal). I read contracts. So, they SELL you promotional pricing under "it can't go up for two years." And what they are really telling you is: "Any price on this promotion CAN go up. . .it just can't go higher than our regular sky-high prices."

Bait and Switch.

After my two-years is up, I will be changing to Satellite TV or disconnecting Cable and go with NetFlix only.

Well, naturally, by 3pm, it seems to magically come back on (at slower speeds than I'm paying for, but sure, it's on). And if I call them to schedule a technician to come out (because they won't do it WHILE an outage is going on..), they'll send some other chucklehead to come out here and tell me my equipment is bad (it's not) or it's on their end (too bad). And THEN I'll get charged for the technician coming out.

And when the outage happens again -- LIKE EVERY SINGLE f%@kING DAY IT HAS BEEN -- I have to repeat the whole process over again.

Now, at least 40% of my shows record for 2-4 minutes or it displays having recorded the entire show, but displays "content currently unavailable' when I press play. Honestly, it actually records less than half my shows. In addition, I've lost a DVR full of shows three times this year after a reset. Irony being, I've been exploring cutting the cord entirely, but my internet is so awful, I can't assess if streaming is a viable option. I do not understand how the hell a huge city like Phoenix doesn't have a decent competitor. It's a complete monopoly, hence zero urgency to provide decent service. Meanwhile, their billing department is always hard core and on their game. I HATE this company. Seriously, how in the hell do they get away with this with all these complaints?

Maybe there's a way around it, but I really don't need to be wasting any more time re-configuring what they screwed up. One of my accounts (business one, with important items) got transferred first. So now I have to re-do things on my end. Cox loves to raise prices yet does not improve service. Please don't get me started on the tech service whose job we had to fix ourselves. They are a JOKE!

If you're looking for a solution to the Cox email bullshiz, just use a PC or Mac mail service free or paid. Mozilla Thunderbird is buggy at times but is free. Postbox, which I also have, is like Outlook / Thunderbird.

Gmail is good for collecting all of your emails in one place, plus it's free if you don't mind that they're not very secure. ANYTHING is better than the "app (crap) suite" Cox switched to. I host domains and my webmaster account on 1and1.com and Cox is using the same platform with "Portal" a main page you can see multiple items on, then go to your email. Serves no purpose for most people. If you look at the Cox site as a whole, it's a jumbled mess. Get your sh*t together Cox, because you suck.

Called billing department and was told that charge would be removed and to just pay the remainder. A couple of weeks later cable goes out again. Called again and was told that we had been cut off for not paying the service charge! After explaining the situation was told that was a error and service was restored. Now the next bill comes in and there's a re-connection charge PLUS a late fee for not paying the (now removed) service charge! WTF?! Not calling this time. Going in person to their local office!

I should be getting around 50mbps, according to the plan I got, and I used to (granted, when it wasn't the evening). The past few days, I've been getting 1mbps, assuming the internet hasn't randomly stopped working all together every thirty seconds. What a f%@king joke of a company. I hope either some company like Verizon comes in and installs Fios or I move somewhere that has an internet service better than this f%@king place, because right now, I don't know what the f%@k I'm paying almost $100 a month for.

If any of you have ever wondered when speaking to someone if they actually work for Cox??? Let me put your mind at ease.. You're not speaking to a Cox video, telephone or data tech...You're speaking to an individual who is sitting in their home using equipment that is connected to Cox data bases through a third party vendor called Sitel.

This company has a contract with Cox Communications to handle ALL of the troubleshooting and scheduled calls to your homes. In fact the company promises Cox that they will increase sales of Cox services and Sitel requires each employee to maintain at least 4 major service sales of Video, Data, Telephone regardless of how they get those sales a month.

After speaking to angry customers over the lack of services being dependable or experiencing "outages" WE also were instructed to offer apology services such as Premium channels like HBO, Showtime etc at what would appear to be discounted pricing that actually any customer could call in a get any time of the day.

Many times I spoke to YOU and after, if I could , get your services restored I didn't bother "pitching" and often I didn't even bother "probing" as I was told I was supposed to do call after call after call. That's because I am a customer of products and services myself. And if I'm not getting what I pay hard earned money for..why the he** would I want someone on the other end of the conversation want to to take on more? I wouldn't....and that was how I worked and Sitel didn't like that one bit...

According to Sitel the only thing that matter was pitching and selling. Trouble shooting was just a way to get in the front door of your home to get you to buy more crap services from Cox.

I talked to neighbors and they verified that their internet did not go down and they are on the same relay box. Took my old modem to independent computer service and my modem was fine. Cox reps blatantly lied and manipulated an upgrade that I did not ask for or need. There needs to be a class action suit brought against Cox for fraud and abusive business practices ASAP!

I can tell you that the taste left in my mouth of the deceit and misdirection I was instructed to relay did not sit well with me at all. The only thing I kept hearing from coaches and supervisors was "pitch more services and or programming". Angry Customers do not want to hear "hey for the inconvenience you're experiencing tonight let me offer you...." And if I didn't pitch...I got a buzz pop up window from a chat room telling me..Hey why didn't you pitch an apologetic offer to that CX ? Fully knowing that listening to my conversation with that customer...they didn't want anything else but their services working.

Again I am sorry Phoenix and Northern Phoenix area..I didn't take that job to lie to people. I took it to be a support technician not a used car salesman.

As a network engineer I can say that they will play you as a retard despite what you know, even the techs they send out have their own complaints about how management works. We had a node down for the longest that they swore was just user fault, till we finally got a tech out that confirmed the same.

Shit service, customer support has no idea what they're doing, if its not scripted on the pc, then the next best bet is to get you off the line because call times have to be under 7 minutes, had these f%@ks not paid the city off to deny google fiber I'd have left long ago.

We dropped TV service last year because channels constantly froze or would buffer in, and quality just went to shit, prices are on a constant rise with them while quality ( whats left of it ) just continues to plummet.

Ok, well, I could stomach that if it didn't slow to 1-2Mbps almost every evening (worse when its super hot out and everyone is inside streaming netflix) due to node being overloaded. Apparently this is a chronic issue in Chandler and most cox users just accept it. WTF???

Regularly, randomly, we lose all IP connectivity but still have excellent downstream/upstream numbers on modem. Tech said that it must be something in the "head end" and that they will "look in to it". That was a year ago.

Quite possibly the worst internet service in the area as it really only works well during the day... While you're at work.

We are canceling when our contract expires in a few weeks and never looking back.

In fact, just yesterday I got into it with the tech after calling them about only getting 30 Mbps instead of the 150 Mbps I should be getting. I told her that "I tried using several different servers and I'm getting between 20-30 Mbps". She then says "I don't see that you used Cox's server to test your speeds, ours is the same as Ookla!" So I told her "I don't need to use YOUR server, you're not going to get a 110 Mbps discrepancy by using YOUR server". I couldn't finish the sentence when she started to argue with me and started talking right over the top of me, then ultimately hanging the phone up on me after I told her to listen to what I'm saying... I wanted to ask her that if Ookla is the same as Cox's server, THEN WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME TO USE COX'S SERVER? But she hung up on me... real professional! I guess customers are an inconvenience to them, they just want your money and for you to shut up and deal with poor service. It seems to be a pattern with them as I've only met ONE... Cox installer in Arizona that did their job and actually had a happy attitude, and I've been dealing with them for 10 years on a weekly basis. Century Link is just as bad as Cox! I wish DirecTV had as fast internet as cable does, or if I was wishing for stuff, that Cox would get their act together! Show some vetting when interviewing these people for petes sake!!! I've had really good luck with DirecTV's techs on the phone as well as their installers, so I know it's attainable.

I had Cox Internet since 2014. Even from day 1 there were always random drop-outs. All of the equipment was brand new. I never reported these issues at the time because I was only spending several...

I had Cox Internet since 2014. Even from day 1 there were always random drop-outs. All of the equipment was brand new. I never reported these issues at the time because I was only spending several weeks a year in this location. Fast forward a few years, and I am now at this location full time.

Starting last November, the internet began dropping out even more often than it was before. I opened a ticket with Cox, which they did nothing with. Then, in December, they had the audacity to call me to try to get me to add new services. I called back again in January and was told by their customer service that the ticket has never been looked at by anyone in all this time, and that it was my fault for not following up with them to make sure that the issue was being addressed.

I was also seeing regular T3 and T4 timeouts and the Cox agents told me that they don't troubleshoot T3 and T4 timeouts by customer request. They did dispatch a tech who checked everything out to the street and could not find any issue. Of course, the tech wasn't going to wait around all day to wait for the modem to reboot when there was a T4 timeout. When issues persisted, I continued to contact Cox but was being given the run-around, no credits for interrupted service, and all they wanted me to do was to replace my (practically new) customer owned equipment with their own for a monthly rental fee. I pressed Cox for further information about what troubleshooting was going to be performed when the modem was replaced and the issues continued. Cox, of course, refused to admit any fault on their network. I was told that they could not see the errors I was describing on their end, when I was able to open the log in the modem and read them the error messages straight from my web browser.

Out of frustration, I cancelled their overpriced service ($40/mo for 5mbps!?) and went with Centurylink ($40/mo for 25mbps) which hasn't experienced any issues since installation.

I'm about 5 hours from KC. So I sign in over and over. Get nowhere. Call on the phone. Those poor people that answer the phones...
Also it's $111.01 a month for basic phone and internet only for my very small hair salon. Then they automatically roll ya over into a new contract...

I have called tech support numerous times, replaced all my hardware, they have replaced their hardware, and checked all setting on everything, and my issue has not been fixed. I've had numerous techs tell me "yes there is an issue, we will fix it" and it not be fixed. Or my favorite is when a tech comes out and says "I don't see a problem at the moment, just call support when the issue arises again". Regretfully they are the only internet company in my town that has the speeds I need, otherwise I would switch in a heartbeat."

That said I've been a Cox Customer (Cox Sucker!) for over 12 years and without prejudice this corporation puts NO accountability of service satisfaction out to their customer base. Who is their CEO? Who is their President? The executive staff at Cox Communications (insert laugh @ "communications") remains distant and stealth to their customers and for probably great safety and logical reasons (ex: no single person on their entire executive board gives a flying sh@t about Cox Customers ("Cox Suckers") otherwise someone, ANYONE at their corporate executive level would take their "bull" by the horns and accept responsibility for such rancid public relations). There is a way to push the executive staff's buttons into getting off their greedy little asses and that is to mimic the old "Allstate-sucks.com" website by bringing such widespread horrendous customer service to the public's eye - this then could dent their corporate profits THEN they would be forced to address their deficiencies. Like Allstate Insurance (the Monsanto of the Insurance world), is/was so bad that a great little book based upon a true story in New Mexico of HOW HORRIBLE Allstate Insurance was/is entitled "From Good Hands to Boxing Gloves." was written. This true story will give you the feeling of insects crawling up your arms in bed at night!

SUMMARY: In order to get any response and paradigm shift from the dismal staff at Cox Comm it has to be hurt financially by widespread bad press. I have been a customer for 14 years. This past year has been nothing but a head ache. TV works fine, internet constantly goes offline. They tell me it is my router, I buy a new router, then they tell me it is the modem. I remind them I purchased the modem from them just a few months ago after I had a different problem. They switched it out for me for some other broke piece of crap. The second modem works worse than the first. They have had two service guys out who I can only describe as 14 year old boys who could not find a problem. Sure after telling them I can unplug the modem and reconnect and it will work for 20-30 min then crap out on me. Sure enough after they leave it craps out. The brain dead fools on the phone can only reset the modem which I constantly remind them in a piece of crap. Now they want to send a guy out who they tell me will charge me to fix the internet I pay them to keep running. There are two other companies in my area both of which are just over dialup speeds and have worse customer service ratings. If you could only get the crap they pull on camera maybe they would be shamed into better service like the airline industry is going through.

Called to tell them the billing was incorrect. They had no record of the previous phone call. Now seasonal hold of 50% higher than it was when I first called. On top of that, now I'm 2000 miles away so I can't disconnect because I can't return the equipment. In the middle of that discussion (over an hour on the phone), they cut me off! Had to start the whole process over with a new phone call, new representatives. Had to explain everything all over again to 2 more people. Finally got it straightened out, but never did get the original price.

The number one problem I have seen commented on is not the service, but the fact that too many people buy techy toys and aren't techy people. They do not understand that if you are seeing extra characters show up when you are typing that it is not the internet causing the problem, but an issue with either the keyboard (most commonly wireless keyboards) or their computer (malware and browser hijackers are the most common). Not being techy means you also do not know that the more wireless devices you have in the house, the more attention you have to pay to your network setup (on my router I set up one network for desktops/laptops, one for tablets/phones, and a third for other smart devices). Not being techy means that you won't know that Windows 10 deletes its driver files on a regular basis which means you cannot connect The device until you reinstall the driver which you will need saved on a jump drive just to get it to work because you cannot connect to the internet without the right driver file. When a tech support person asks you to unplug the power cord on your device and you say you aren't techy, you are showing why you have so many problems and it is not the company's fault that you don't know what a power cord is even though your vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, and alarm clock all have them too. Sorry kids but when you buy or rent your router the first thing you should do when you get online is download the manual for it. Have Contour2 boxes? Well they don't list a manual for them but they are the same as the Comcast Xfinity boxes so that manual will work just fine. I could go on for days but since most people won't even read this far, why should I bother.

I have had to take off work several times for them just to come buy a say that they cannot run the cable a ground crew needs to run the cable. It has been months trying to get service and obviously they could care less. They lie to you by leaving a tag on you door saying there was not back yard access. When in fact there are two gates neither are locked and no dogs in the yard. The latest is I had an appointment scheduled for the 18th and when I called a week ago we were still scheduled, but when I called this afternoon I was told it was cancelled on the 9th. We were never notified. Another sign that Cox could care less about their customers. At least one course of action I can take is I work for a large Computer Service Provider in New Orleans and I will start working with my clients to drop their Cox Internet service and move to a new provider.

Things get better for a while, and then back to not so good. There do not appear to be set standards. If a good tech shows up, maybe things improve.

I had a service window from 1:00-3:00 and they are supposed to call 30 minutes prior. Well, 2:40 rolls around and no phone call, so I get on the horn with them. The automated service says the technician's ETA is 2:40 and here I sit at work, waiting on a phone call. After getting a real person on the phone, she proceeds to put me on hold for 10 minutes, just to come back and tell me that, unless he goes past the 3:00 time, they really can't give me any updates on his ETA. So, in fact, he was not arriving at 2:40 and they could give me no real ETA.
The customer service agent thought I was just sitting around at home, waiting on the tech. Who has time to sit at home all afternoon like that? I have a full-time job, thank you very much. Call me like we agreed to, 30 minutes prior and I will meet him there. It's not difficult.

I don't feel the company, in it's current form, embodies what it's founder had in mind. There are quite allot of folks who feel it's a great place to work but I'm not so sure of that myself anymore. It's sad to see how many small businesses across the county have become hurt simply due to frequent cox outages and poor poor service delivery. The jobs at cox are made that much harder to fill in these gaps and in a sense become gaps themselves in their overall business model. From tech support to sales, there are breaks and the consumer and small businesses alike are hurt because of it. I wish my former comrades much luck going forward with their time working at cox.

I'm in Santa Barbara CA, where Cox has a long history of contract violations. I stopped paying my bill permanently two months ago and allowed my cable to be disconnected because with current CIA/NSA censorship, it's not worth the cost. While I still was paying Cox I was unable to log onto any websites for three days – none of my passwords worked. I drove to the closest Cox office rather than opting for a 30 minute phone wait and a couple of recalls due to Cox disconnects, and was told that Cox had stopped supporting Windows XP, and I should take my computer to a repair place and update my OS. I later found that Cox had been making server changes which caused the problems Cox continued to bill me for two months after my cable was cut off – for supplying no services. I went back to the Cox store and officially closed my account. I was told I'd receive a statement in the mail. I haven't received a statement, but this morning a Cox rep entered my private property and left a collection notice on my doorknob, which I believe is harassment and a violation of collection law.
Cox sucks. Never again.

The technician decided to drill holes in the siding in the front of my house under my windows, two of them under the windows the coax cable is hanging down the front of my house out into the gutter and draped around the side of my house. When the wind blows is the wires blow and tick all night long.
The vents under my eaves are bent down with wires hanging out of them.
The box on the underside of my eaves was left open with wires hanging out.
The box in my backyard where the wires go into was left open and wires hanging out for the kids to have access to.

I live in northwest Gainesville, a small city in north central Florida. Cox is the only company I can use for internet. Their basic internet without cable has gone up to 80 dollars a month. It constantly drops the connection. Even watching Netflix has become almost impossible. We rarely get through an episode without the connection slowing so that the show cannot play properly. Often the picture looks grainy as well. When I called them to check the connection status, they told me it was operating fast and smooth at optimal connection speed. When I used an independent connection check, the speed was running at 25 percent of what Cox claimed. So Cox is not just a shitty cable company but also a bunch of filthy liars. I hope Gainesville grows more so that more companies will come here. I would switch to Verizon or even crappy Comcast to escape these dirty Cox.

Now I find myself on a great site like this seeing that its not just me. Please if you have a choice, drop cable, you won't regret it. I wish I still had the option. I can only imagine how rich the ownership is getting off the backs of the people they "serve".

Every time any "customer service" person touches my account, a big bill follows the next month.

I think the place is run by mobsters or thieves.

I laugh when I see them advertise to automatically deduct the payment from your bank... Right like anyone sane would do that.

They misapplied a payment on our account, shut off our service and it took us 2 hours of time to get them to fix their own mistake.

Every time I turn around, my bill goes up without any kind of notice.

I don't know if any of the other providers are any better but Cox Communications is run by crooks.

There hasn't been an analog tuner TV made in at least 15 years. The last analog TV signal stop broadcasting at least 5 years ago...BY LAW. These people have there heads up their asses and their hand in your pocket. If Cox cable is your only choice I feel sorry for you, I can relate to wanting to keep your favorite shows but is it worth the bullshit. Most larger cities have at least 45-50 OTA channels your TV can receive FREE OF CHARGE by just connecting a cheap antenna to your TV and there are more internet options out there than you might be aware of..look into it.

I routinely check fios and xfinity, hoping they will be available in my area. I can't get dish at this apartment so I am stuck for now :-(. I called Cox to schedule a service call since I have had digital tiling or black screen on several channels for the past several weeks. So then I either watch another channel or watch the desired channel through a computer or iPad. Upon placing the service call, I also requested that only a "Cox Technician" be assigned the service call. Now at this point I should come clean. I am a former Cox employee. I worked in the local dispatch office and was the person that routed the service calls & installs for our market. I would got through each work order to ensure that in the event a certain tech was requested or special instruction were fulfilled. That was until Cox decided that my job and the entire department I worked in for our local market would be best located over 200 miles away (over 4 hours drive time). That's right. Someone over 200 miles away is now in charge or routing service calls in my market along with at least 2 other markets and who knows how many others. So now with a team of dispatchers and a state of the art dispatching software they CAN'T or WON'T do what I as a single individual for a local market was able to do. I watched as the transition was made to the new location that service calls that requested a "Cox Tech Only" routinely routed to contractors. So was I disappointed when the service technician pulled up to my house on the date of the scheduled service call. NO!!! Standing at my door on my front porch was a contractor for Cox. I told the contractor that I had requested a "Cox technician", he said he was a "Cox technician". I then told him that he was a contractor for Cox, but was not a "Cox technician". He then returned to his vehicle and left. I then called Cox to complain that a contractor was assigned my service call after I requested a "Cox Technician". After being passed several times to different call center service reps, I finally was passed to an individual whom seemed to want to try to help. Cox Cable Internet Service is SO BAD they should pay the customer to use it! I live in an "unincorporated" area in El Cajon, CA in San Diego County. Unincorporated I don't know why, it is a big city and I'm 1/4 mile from a freeway. This area has no other company available for internet service. No Verizon, no AT&T, no Frontier. Even the satellite company in the area cannot give enough whatever you call it in their internet service to stream videos. So, we are STUCK with Cox. Every single day at between 2:45 and 3:00, the service shuts down. Then on and off. Every single day, it goes on and off at any time of day.

We took the modem in thinking that was the problem. We were told it's an old model, but did they ever send out letters telling customers to come on in with your old model and pick up a new one? They gave us a new model (Netgear N90). But you should unplug it every couple of days overnight. Okay, we do that. And we do that during daytime when it won't get back on line.

It's one thing not being their fault they use a cable that thousands of users are running on. That's how they operate. I get that. And it's my error for living here although I was unaware of the internet situation in the area. BUT to charge such high prices and keep increasing their prices is just absurd! They really should be paying the customer rather than us paying them. For internet service only, we pay $85.77 per month for the top plan. This is for streaming videos, which half the time get stuck trying to buffer, even for videos only a few minutes long on platforms such as facebook.

Phone did not work and called on Wednesday. Was told Cox would come Thursday 5-7pm. No one shows up. I called after 7 and was told the tech came at 5:51 and we did not answer the door. My bell works...

Phone did not work and called on Wednesday. Was told Cox would come Thursday 5-7pm. No one shows up. I called after 7 and was told the tech came at 5:51 and we did not answer the door. My bell works and either my daughter or I hear anyone ringing the door. I complained to supervisor and got a Friday 8-10 a.m. appointment on 10/7/16. I wasted two hours and nobody shows. The worst thing was when I called at 9:30 a.m. Cox said the appointment was still good and tech would come between 8-10.

I called and talked to a tech named Ron, he took my number and said he would call back and he did not.

I went online and chatted with Daniel and he tried to set me up for service this afternnon after 4 p.m. (10/7/16). Nobody called or came.

My phone is still down.

After 20 years with Cox, it is time to move to Sling and give up the land line.
