Cox messes up my billing every single month. Each month, I have to contact them to resolve. Each time, they tell me I'm giving them the wrong last 4 digits of my SSN, and they can't help....

Cox messes up my billing every single month. Each month, I have to contact them to resolve. Each time, they tell me I'm giving them the wrong last 4 digits of my SSN, and they can't help. I've escalated and escalated over the years, and each time I'm told by a "supervisor" that they're sorry, they recognize why the problem happened, it was an error on their end, and it will never happen again. And then the next month, it happens again. Every month. For years. I paid almost $10k to get service to my house in the county, and pay an extra $60 each month for their 2 monthly billing errors, but there is no other option in my neighborhood. They've got me right where they want me and don't care two hoots.

Cox willingly took my $169 for unlimited Gigablast internet each month for years. Then the one time my online backups used more "upstream" data than they liked, they had a gruff, rude and arrogant Customer Advocate Supervisor named "Daniel" who called me to tell me that I am "ruining the internet experience of other customers around you". He also went on to tell me that they were slowing down my upload speed. It was done to me, but not the others in my neighborhood. He told me no recourse, and no escalation above him. So I filed a consumer protection complaint with the state AG office. Suddenly Cox executive escalation calls me, listens, then ultimately did nothing to correct the issue. Apparently taking my $ is fine, but when I actually go to use the service, I am suddenly a bad customer. Moved to Century Link. Service is slower, price is lower, but will not be talked to like that. Cox. Appropriately named. Daniel must be Latin for "one who does not care". Good luck Daniel. Do not come into my business expecting to be treated nicely if you are wearing a Cox shirt.

I had an appointment scheduled with COX because my remote would not communicate with the box. After trying everything we could over the phone it was decided that I needed new equipment. So they sent a technician out today. However, when he arrived he said that due to COVID-19 he was unable to enter my residence and I would have to swap out the equipment he would stand by the door and walk me through it. REALLY!!!!! Why even send someone out???

I was NOT told this at the time the appointment was set up. However, now the technician is telling me that if I wanted someone to exchange the equipment I could wait a couple of weeks for things to return to somewhat normal. Again,,,REALLY,!! I called to complain and it went nowhere. COX really sucks. I told them they could pick up their crappy equipment after COVID-19 and I would get DIRECTV to replace them.

There may be Verizon phone or satellite tv available but Cox will not run a system if there is another provider. It's obviously monopolistic but the Cox family has been in the US since its inception and have their greedy sticky family fingers in everything.

Go figure where they get employees off the street w/no smarts or education especially no rules on smoking in front of customers ! Well I told him I needed a cable box mine was saying 1080i & was no good & I really couldn't understand him at all but I think he said why u need cable box duhhh !!! if I didn't need a tech here for a reason lol ! it's cause I have no damn cable & the box is bad ! Well he left & I thought he was going to his truck to get me the cable box so I waited & waited so I went to see whats taking him so long & he had left me without doing anything & also he cancelled my cox tech appointment i had ! Now I'm still stuck without damn cable for the 8th day ! And w/the covid19 going on they will not come in ur home & repair or check on nothing so ur the tech to do all the work inside whatever it might be, but u can bet he goes inside a store w/ppl in it to buy a pack of cigarettes !! All of Cox’s consumer home internet plans in our area used to have unlimited capacity with varying bandwidths (that don’t matter anyway because the connection has always been completely unreliable), but now it’s worse with varying bandwidths AND varying capacities and they didn’t grandfather us in on their prior policy to give everyone unlimited data capacities at different bandwidth rates and shoved us into the lowest data limited “plan” they have.
It hurts to think that companies that act like this still exist.

On the other hand, COX does everything it can to try to sell you another service or upgrade your current. Now Cox is incredibly good at reminding me of when my payment is due. The first of the month I get a phone notification and I get no less than 3 more before it is due. My payments are always early and I'm proud of my +800 credit rating. Just an absolute garbage company and I hope in the future we have more choices. I had Time Warner in NY and they are just as bad. In fact, instead of Time Warner working to improve their service they decided to just change their name to Spectrum figuring most people would be fooled.

There are three to four internet companies here in Las Vegas but because COX is so powerful they are able,through political and monetary pressure on the politicians, to decide what areas will receive which service provider. And of course COX gets the biggest share. Making noise at the local level at your town councils or whatever political body governs your area should also be addressed.

Within the last 2 years, they have jacked my bill, Lowered my speeds (now under 15 MB on a good day) and the internet works only intermittently. 3 days ago I followed a Cox repair truck that simply meandered the neighborhood but never stopped to fix anything. Another cox repairman was working on another street. I approached him and asked why do we have only internet 1/2 the time. He said he would work on it. Today it again is off and on. When we had the hurricanes from Frances, Jean, and Charlie. The Cox overhead line laid on the ground in my backyard for nearly 1 year after repeated calls to service. I have no other choice in Internet providers at this property. At my father in-laws is served by Spectrum. I have 150 MB service and it is 1/3 the cost of Cox and it WORKS! Wow! Out of the blue they shut my service off Friday night. I'm a week or so late to make a payment but I've always had until the 25th or 26th of the month to make payment and it's never been a problem. I ALWAYS pay my bill!

It's 8:45 pm on a Friday night and the service just shuts off. I go to call them only to find out they no longer have 24-hour customer phone service. Only open from 8am-8pm now. They jack the bill up all the time, yet now I get fewer services?

So my only choice is to use my cell phone and start an online chat. The "customer service" rep states they cannot turn my service back on because of some bullshit code that they need but are not given. Only the billing department can do that or some bullshit.

Then the rep tells me if I make a payment it will come back on. Wow. So I ask how is it that they cannot turn my service on, but if I make a payment it will magically be turned back on. The rep replies with some more bullshit.

Long story short, I have to wait until 8am on Saturday morning to call and speak to someone in their billing/compliance dept. I get hold of some idiot and he says he doesn't know why they turned my service off so early. Well NO SHIT SHERLOCK!

So I'm told if I schedule a payment he will turn it back on for me. I schedule the payment. I had the money to pay all along but I was not going to pay on Friday night out of principle. I thought long and hard about whether to pay at all. Unfortunately, the only other choice for the internet in my complex is Century Link, and they suck bigger balls than Cox.

I just didn't like the way they tried to strongarm me into making a payment on Friday night. They DELIBERATELY wait until after 8 pm to turn the service off so you have NO RECOURSE but to call in and make a payment. Well BULLSHIT! I AM NOT going to be pushed around by a f%@king cable company!

I'm just waiting until I have a better choice than Century Link and I am done with Cox! They are AWFUL! That's how they treat a 7-year customer? I don't think so...

It often disconnects me whether on phone or computer, and any download no matter how small tanks the entire connection. No matter how many extenders, limiters, or antennas we throw around it just doesn't work, even when nobody is doing anything too tough on it. My brother is an IT for Christ's sake and even he shrugs at the ludicrous of Cox. RIP to even sending a message.

pure bullshit and they try to blame your equipment for any problems if you don't RENT their crap. My wife got sick of their bullshit and said OK rent their best modem. After 4 hours a service tech. couldn't get their best modem/router
to get over 40 mbits on a 300 line. so much for renting my costco modem and my trendnet router are doing ok at 280mbits
we would switch service in a heartbeat but the other providers in our area can't get over 20mbits so we are stuck with cox.

Have had Cox for 30 years, no major problems except they are too expensive. I don’t have cable tv anymore, just internet and phone. They sent email saying my modem was outdated and “we’re offering an upgrade on us. You can get a better modem at no additional cost…” So, I ordered and opted for self-install. That was a joke! For two days I went round and round with support and never got the same answer twice. Finally, someone said the modem they sent wasn’t the correct one because it didn’t allow for a phone. So, I ended up going to the Cox store. Finally had contact with someone who knew what they were doing. Switched modems and everything was good. Until I got my monthly bill! I was charged $179.00 for the new modem. I called and was told they always charge for the equipment, unless I was renting it. I read the ad to her and there was more dancing around until I said that was deceptive and I was going to report it to the BBB. At which point I was transferred to someone else. I pointed the same thing out to her and then she came up with, “you haven’t returned the old modem”. Told her I used the return UPS label they sent and dropped it in the UPS bin at my office. She said unless I had “proof” there was nothing she could do. Wow, I usually get kissed before I get screwed!

Customer service is mostly untrained people who have no idea how to help, and most of the technicians are overconfident, underqualified white men who come in, tell you it's your equipment no matter how many times you've switched, upgraded or repaired said equipment.
The worst part? They have de facto monopolies in most of the areas they're in, meaning you have no other options.

I called this morning and they were too busy to take my call so I opted to have them return my call when they were not so busy. 6 hours later I still had not received a return call. So I called in and got through to a representative without any wait, which is interesting because they never returned my call. When I asked the representative why a technician is scheduled to come to my house She informed me that he's coming to collect payment or their equipment. So now they send out thugs just like the mafia you to collect payment or repo their equipment. They truly are one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. Oh and by the way my total bill with them including past due charges is less than $200.

We had a bundle package (cable, phone, and internet) for $174 a month, which we were happy with. Our phone got hacked in January and someone was making long distance calls. In February they noticed it and canceled our phone line (which we only used as a fax and thought the fax was having issues). Our bill went up to over $300 per month and nobody called us to tell us. After finally getting our phone line back and many apologies they offered to give us a $99 a month bundle as well as a $200 credit to left reimburse us for all of the overpayments we were making (which didn't come close to what we were overpaying based on what we were paying). They reinstated all of the services (as I had previously canceled the premiums and lowered the internet speed trying to lower the bill) and months later said that the $99 a month bundle wasn't approved... This was something that they offered to us an an apology; so basically their apology wasn't approved to be given!! Not only that, I had to ask to speak to a supervisor to get them to backdate the over $200 plan they were leaving me with and they wouldn't do it.. So they gave me all of these services at a promised price, let months go by and then reneged on the promised price, and left us high and dry on the inflated price, leaving us to pay the over $300 a month prices. I never would have taken the services had I known they couldn't guarantee what they were offering me. I had probably spoken to over 2 dozen people and nobody left notes in the computer about my situation and often times it was blamed on a 3rd party person that I was speaking to on Cox's behalf (which is a terrible excuse). I said to go back and listen to the conversations of where I was offered it several times and they said that they couldn't; I though calls were recorded for better service!!!! I ever wrote down peoples names and asked for confirmation numbers; names didn't matter/help and there are no confirmation numbers to refer to when speaking to anyone there. For a big company, you would think they would do better than this, very disappointing and very unhappy with this place.

I called each succeeding month and was told each time, that I was in the que and that they had no answers yet. I called yesterday and was told that my case had been closed, that my older emails were irretrievable and that they were sorry. Sorry!!!!! I asked the tech why wasn't I notified that when they were switching servers that this could happen? He tells me that they didn't think it would be a problem. My speeds were consistently mediocre a couple of years ago, with Cox then as well, and then something changed on the Cox side of things and it turned into unpredictable garbage. I work from home, and I have to upload and download large media files daily, so this arrangement isn't working. Regardless of what speed I pay for, the service is always the same. Poop.

When I called Cox they said it was turned off because of the digital transfer that had not occurred. Issue #1 had the transfer scheduled back in july, tech showed up with wrong parts. rescheduled for the same time slot 1 week later. Tech shows day early, told cant' do it, you set install for next day, come back then.... no show 3 more hour of my time wasted.. They screwed up and never followed up.

Brings us to 9/5 and storm inbound. Got to Mom's, got tech on line, "we're sorry, phone should be back on shortly..." Even set up a new install appointment for 9/16. We go about securing house running out for last minute supplies..

Hour later, no phone service. Mom gets email.. "for restoring your service bill 75.00" I call support, How I managed not to cuss out the operator, no idea... go thru two techs, finally get transferred to a supervisor to figure out why service not restored.. He went on to start tell me he can get and installer out sooner that the 16th but can't restore her service because she's past the digital transfer deadline... It was at that point my conversation ended...

My mother in law is 80.. a hurricane is coming .. phone service has been cut off.. f%@k THEM!!

Cox blocks their users from having web servers. I want to set up a software called Octoprint on my network so that I can remotely monitor my 3D printer. The application is locally hosted on a device on my network and only sends out temperature data from the sensors + a live webcam feed. This isn't particularly taxing on any network, especially my specific internet plan, but because it's a server, I would have to buy a significantly more expensive business internet plan which is kinda difficult to do given that I'm just a graduate student. This is why we need net neutrality.

I would change internet providers but my complex has some sort of contract with Cox so that no other internet providers can provide service to this complex. All I can do is vent and hope somebody in power sees this and sides with people like me. This situation is depressing.

Me and my dog have been customers with Cox for 15 years. They called a few weeks ago, after we had some connectivity issues, and offered a new modem at no cost. Then... suddenly... out of nowhere... a shitty connection, if one at all. Their modem came in a couple days but was not even close to what they had promised. I called and complained and said we will keep our modem. Then... suddenly... out of nowhere... a great connection; for about a week. Like now, it is very rare I get a good connection, so I thought I would use my time wisely;)
Today, I spoke with customer service and asked for a credit to my bill and questioned WTF? The guy said my modem is third party and has been out of date with Cox "for a long time now." I called his bullshit and asked "why has no one ever told us (the customer) about this, we have contacted Cox several times and not one word." I was blamed for having "faulty" equipment and told I am going to pay $200 anywhere else for a new modem/router.
BTW - The best modem for Cox, according to Best Buy, is the MOTOROLA MG7540 16×4 Modem Router, for $129.98 at Wal puke, Targnished, and Slamzone.
The guy changed his tune and said because we are such good customers he will give us their modem/router for $5 a month for 12 months, on lease. So, that is on the way, hopefully. Then I got transferred to billing and was told a supervisor needed to call me back in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later I called back and was told as a "courtesy" they will refund $15 on our next bill. It's been 3 weeks that I have only been able to connect late at night or mid-day, sometimes. Not when I actually want the service I pay for. I was reassured the issue is on my end and she will also remove the $20 self-install service fee for the new modem/router. Yeah, no cost because we purchased insurance; not because you are offering some courtesy.

My signal is good.
My equipment is operational.
The only change is my external connectivity and a sales call.
A scan using my iMac resulted in a recommendation to contact my service provider.

Now my service provider denies any responsibility, even though they could be the reason my connection is bad because they do have the ability to affect service at any time.

It comes down to interpretation.

Did they send anything to or from our modem? Why did they not inform us if/when they may or may not have realized that certain customers have a certain modem on their list that is being removed then call those customers and say "hey bro, your shit's outdated." Then we can make an informed decision. Instead the new trend is to make life difficult by taking away from actual customer service, by enabling call centers to "represent" a certain company. It's what I do now and the way people treat every customer as a potential sale is BullShit. I got lucky with a good company recently, f%@kwads.
Anyway, I know this is long as f%@k. I'm typing more to make it longer as f%@k. I hope anyone considering Cox, or any other larger communications company, will be aware of the current business environment and trends. They will offer you deals, sales, specials, courtesy’s, thank you’s, and all kinds of ways to get you to upgrade or buy. When you have issues, and you will have issues, then you discover the real value of your dollar and why the balance in America is so f%@ked up. I explained that I pay for gigablast but am only getting 110-140mbps and have already factory reset the modem, refreshed the signal, unplugged it, all the basics as I am in IT myself and more technical than
most Cox agents I've ever interacted with. They then wanted to reset it again and still no improvement. They proceeded to schedule a tech visit which turned out to be 3 techs from a subcontracted company I've never heard of and after 2 hours, a new modem, changing my wifi password, and unplugging my Ethernet switcher
had only managed to decrease my speeds further. They tried claiming that cox has never pushed 1000down and basically called me a liar when I mentioned I had when it was first installed. I finally showed them speedtest screenshots and all they did was start blaming my computer, Ethernet cable, modem's placement,
anything they could think of. My computer is a top of the line beast by the way so that was out of the question. They finally left with no clear answer or explanation so since then I've tried calling in for the last 2 hours and either get transferred, hung up on, or they lie and say they can't hear me. When
I do get someone who actually talks, all they do is read from a script and ignore anything I say. I say the modem is brand new and the techs just left yet they want to start the whole rigmarole of resetting and refreshing the signal. I tell them the light is steady white and am immediately asked to let them know
when the lights stop flashing...I tell them techs were just here and replaced the modem and the reply is "I'll send a tech out but if it's due to damage you caused the modem you will pay $75" Each agent (5+) I've spoken to would not discuss any credits to my bill or reimbursement
for receiving a fraction of the speed I pay for. Finally I ask for a manager and am transferred to be greeted by a machine saying you're closed. This has by far been the worst customer experience I've ever encountered.

During a request for a reduction in service I was offered a perk and told it would save $4 on my bill because of a special promotion and I was unhappy with last year's rate increase, I was canceling my landline to save money and trying (unsuccessfully) to get them to clarify the cost of my remaining internet service. The perk was Contour TV for $22.50 per month free. The sales dept said that the free contour and Preferred 100 Internet would be $78 going forward. After getting a rate rise this Jan(1year later). I called to cancel the contour even though I was under the impression my bill would go up to $84 from $81 because I was fed up with the rate increase and was willing to cut my nose to spite my face. (Cox, I hate you).
Yeh, my bill did go up to $61. The previous cost for Internet Preferred was $57 dollars and the Contour was never free. (Junk TV)

At the end its a faulty asset sold to me by COX which they are not ready to replace it or refund me money. Where COX really dances on their dick is in the internet connection. While I don't get a lot of outages, the performance is just awful. And I have top of the line current hardware. I have stopped calling them. Huge waste of time.
They claim that gigablast is now available. But they can't make the connection I already have work like its supposed to, so no way I'm going to upgrade and waste even more $$$.

The field trech came and said that I would have to have a pole installed and it would cost $4,000. I called to cancel service. They said they didn't get any message from the first field tech and would send another one. The second field tech said the same thing. I called to cancel. They said I already had service. I assured them that I did not. The sent someone to be sure. I cancelled again. I've been billed monthly ever since. I've spent much hold time and endless times going over this. I finally had them blocked from my credit card. They sent me a paper bill with an added fee for the blocked payment. Chase VISA is talking to them. I'm supposed to get some kind of resolution letter from Chase. I have fiber optic now. If you value your time, credit rating and sanity. Never try to get Cox Cable.

I was informed two weeks ago that Cox would be performing maintenance on my apartment building, and would need access to my unit on Friday or Saturday, and to please have my closet cleaned out, and furniture pulled away from the walls. I was gone all day on both of those days, and assumed they came and went after I noticed some dry-wall dust in the floor, and new coaxel outlet covers. However, Monday morning (today), they let themselves into my unit, and walked right into my bedroom while I was still in bed. They told me they needed to finish something, and asked if I would mind. I said, “Do I mind? I’m still in bed. Get the f%@k out of my bedroom.” The technician responded “it’ll only take 3 minutes.” I said “Get the f%@k out of here or I’ll throw you out.” If they weren’t the only service provider in Lafayette, I’d never give them another dime for the rest of my life.

Contour is garbage. They have to reboot the box every night. So if you have a picture freeze that means that it can't go 24 hours without rebooting. Pathetic
Because of the midnight reboots you can't record during the night, it will reboot during the recording. It's pretty much a monopoly in Vegas. This or a dish. Cox is the worst cable that I have ever had. That's close to 40 years.

I knew 40 years ago we'd be dealing with this underhanded company. As soon as they started to phase out the local access facilities in most cities, it was going to come to this. Having local access was part of the contract with the states and cities. Now here we are, they've become a monopoly in most markets, charge way too much for their half-assed service, customer service is a joke. Why should they care. We've financed their ability to grow into a phone service and internet giant. The say they're better than satellite tv, but their signals break down and go out completely on a too regular basis. They always want to send a technician to your house to check the signal, hoping to charge you the $70 fee. We're screwed, they know it, the government knows it, we know it and there's not a damn thing we can do about it. They are thieves, they take advantage and worst of all, they are heartless asswipes walking a thin line of domestic terrorism. Good business practices, my ass.

Avoid this company at all costs. I have been having connection issues since April, it is now October 17th. I can't even maintain a 6Mbps upload, only hitting about 3-4 Mbps.

I'm paying for 30Mbps upload speed.

I have had 16 technician visits, 2 FCC complaints, and ZERO bill credits. Cox representatives have told me they cannot issue a bill credit until the problem is resolved. However, every time I call they start the process over with a brand-new trouble ticket. So every tech that shows up says "the problem isn't in your house" and leaves.

On Cox's recommendation, I have now purchase THREE new modems and replaced all of the wiring in my house. Still no resolution.

I'm paying for the fastest bandwidth package, WITH unlimited data, WITH the "Complete Care Plan". $130/month for a connection that doesn't function properly (this price is ONLY for Internet, no TV or Phone!)

If you live in an area that ONLY offers Cox Internet (like I do) -- Move. Find a city with an ISP that cares about their products and customers. Go with a Fiber connection! I will never live somewhere that only has Cox again. This connection issue directly affects my home business and side job, and the internet problems have eaten into my business as well as equipment costs.

How many times will a Cox tech tell you it is your lines or connections on the inside of your house when you can run a direct connection from the demarcation point and still show them you aren’t in the acceptable range of -5 to 5 dBmV according to the tier 3 technician that came out. He had to put in a 12 dBmV booster on my line in the house until they came back out and dug up their box in the yard to replace a part or something.
That worked for so long and my service went to shit again. Moved up to Ultimate and then Gigablast to get the download speed I need and those are inconsistent too. Getting a Service Interuption notice when I sign into my account that nobody at Cox has EVER made an attempt to fix without me having to call them about it. Then we start with it is your internal connection bullshit again.
So you have to wonder if the majority of the technicians are that incompetent or that Cox doesn’t want to replace parts of their infrastructure that is causing the issue.
Although there are some technicians that are pretty bad, I would bet that it is that Cox doesn’t want to replace faulty equipment until a certain number of customers that use that piece of equipment complains.

3. as you may know a lot of you guys have the internet set up with a third party modem, what does that mean? that you have your modem purchased from another place that is not Cox and is not a rental one, guess what? Cox is not responsible for that modem if you have problems with the internet we can try to troubleshoot and try every single thing you can imagine but if it does not work, and we found out is the modem, please and really PLEASE contact your manufacturer, this is not our fault, also if you receive an appointment and there are charges after it, is because the technician found our the problem was the modem or a wired at your home and you do not have the insurance to cover the appointment so guess what? there will be a charge, why? really simple, the modem is not a rented one and is YOUR modem, believe me, if it was a rental one we will take care of everything.

Yes, Cox blocks some ports in your service in order to protect you, again we are doing this for you! But if you really need to unlock them to play your games or use your third-party applications, YOU CAN DO IT, but we do not have the tools to do it, if we have them we will do it for you in just minutes, but this is a process that is done by the modem manufacturer, not us! So please, PLEASE, understand us, we try to explain this, if you need more information on this I will be happy to leave links here for you:

well, I am not going to go deeper into this topic, I am going to be really clear, if you do not pay, your account will be disconnected, that is how it works, and yes we understand that you create a payment arrangement, but guess what, we have agents that actually are new or they use the incorrect code in the arrangement, and yes you can be angry about that, absolutely! You are right, but the agent who is taking the chat or the call is not responsible, please ask for an escalation but do not insult your agent, he is trying to provide you with the best options, and guess what? The options in this case 1.pay the due balance, or 2. call collections THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WITH THE PLATFORM TO RECONNECT SERVICES AFTER A DISCONNECTION ORDER IS COMPLETED. I know it is a big inconvenience but is the true, you want more lies or an honest agent?

Unbelievable! I was a cox customer for over 15 years. In April, I moved to a state that cox does not service so instead of transferring my service, I cancelled it... but they have no record of that, and somehow that is my fault, and the only argument they have to have charged me for 2 extra months. In the craziness of the move, I returned the equipment late but I thought that we'd come to an understanding that a "valued" customer should not have to pay for service not received. 3 months later... Apparently we had not... I was quite surprised that their understanding was to send me to collections. Another hour on the phone with them and there is absolutely "nothing they can do" to remove those charges. And would you believe that the rep's supervisor (who did nothing other than repeat what the rep said) was my only recourse because apparently, if there is an unresolved issue, there is absolutely no-one above the supervisor that can even be contacted, and there is nothing I can do about it other than pay for service I can prove I did not receive to have it removed from my credit report. So that's Cox's definition of customer service. Potential new customers BEWARE!

I really didn't think that companies still existed that cared this little about customers other than the the crooked corner _________ store. I was wrong. After 2 months of giving me no information followed by information that we contradicted by the next person I talked to followed by every other person telling me they couldn't talk to me because I'm not on the account I finally just disputed an $81 credit card charge. They didn't respond by fighting the credit card dispute and providing documentation as to why I really owed the money. No they just re-billed the $81, tacked on a $25 service fee and turned my dead mom over to collections.

Try and talk to a supervisor about that issue. No way.

My iPhone downloads so slowly at times (just stops in the middle of downloading various pages) that I find it better to just switch off the wifi and get better speed with T-mobile. I've got a topnotch modem, a top-rated mesh wifi and they worked fine for many months. I'm fed up with Cox!

First: Incompetent customer facing personnel. They either have no training program, or they need to clean house in their training/onboarding department. At the very least Cox could train their employees how to transfer a call without disconnecting. Also, how about give your employees access to your own web site so they can educate themselves about your products and services? Hint... fiber Gigablast does NOT need a cable modem so have them stop trying to lease one to me.

Next: Reps are either dishonest, or don't have access to good information. If the latter, they should simply state "I don't know", but since I continually get incorrect information from them I'm going with dishonest. I called to confirm that service was available to my new address, was told yes... WRONG! Someone pulled the coax out of the conduit from the Cox side of the equation. Construction team not in possession of the technology to push new cable/fiber through a conduit so their solution... wait for it... trench in a new conduit from my address, down the street through two neighbors yards. LOL, incompetence yet again.

Next: When will the above happen? According to the first letter, last week. According to the first dozen reps I spoke with after it didn't happen when promised within 30 days. And according to the last rep I spoke with, sometime in December. Asked for definitive information, twice issue was "escalated" and I was guaranteed a call back from an "escalation supervisor" within 48 hours.... still waiting Cox.

The only reason this company can get away with this is because we allow them to be a monopoly. Simple truth is there aren't other competitors to choose from because Cox has been aggressive in resisting competition. Municipal fiber is the answer to this nonsense, do some Googling on what Cox has to say about those efforts.

Everyone who works for them is complicit. If you choose to work for them, you suck too.
